Count My Fingers

In Poetry on April 10, 2012 at 2:29 am

Count my fingers
There are none.
I lost them all
In a snapping cripple
Session of depression
Now I type with my tongue
And I taste each key stroke,
Stains of my former fingers
Still linger in sweat on the plastic
Ivories, and each new digital
Depression bites a phantom
Recollection on the buds
Of my tongue In a bitter
Spread of aftertaste
And still
I keep on typing
